STEWARDSHIP MOMENT Habakkuk 1:1-4;2:1-4 The injustices of the Judean king and the violence of the Chaldeans (Babylonians) move this prophet to write during the years leading up to the Babylonian exile of Judah. The central issue for the prophet is: How can a good and all-powerful God see evil in the world and seemingly remain indifferent?     The oracle that the prophet Habakkuk saw. O Lord, how long shall I cry for help, and you will not listen? Or cry to you "Violence!" and you will not save? Why do you make me see wrong-doing and look at troubl

Amos 6:1a, 4-7 The prophet Amos announces that Israel's great wealth is not a cause for rejoicing but rather for sorrow, because God's people have forgotten how to share their wealth with the poor.   Alas for those who are at ease in Zion, and for those who feel secure on Mount Samaria, Alas for those who lie on beds of ivory, and lounge on their couches, and eat lambs from the flock, and calves from the stall; who sing idle songs to the sound of the harp, and like David improvise on instruments of music; who drink wine from bowls, and anoint themselves with the finest oi

WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS SONG: Amazing Grace/Chains Gone CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS PSALM: 51:1-10 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; in your great compassion blot out my offenses. Wash me through and through from my wickedness, and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my offenses, and my sin is ever before me. Against you only have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are justified when you speak and right in your judgment.    Indeed, I was born steeped in wickedness, a sinner from my mother's womb.        Indeed, you delight in truth deep within me, and would have me know       wisdom deep within. Remove my sins… and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be purer than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness; that the body you have broken may rejoice. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my wickedness.   Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.     GREETING, KYRIE- spoken HYMN: We Are Baptiz

WELCOME, HYMN: What A Fellowship CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS, PSALM 1 Happy are they who have not walked in the counsel of the wicked, nor lingered in the way of sinners, nor sat in the seats of the scornful!   Their delight is in the law of the LORD, and they meditate on God's teaching day and night.    They are like trees planted by streams of water, bearing fruit in due season, with leaves that do not wither; everything they do shall prosper. It is not so with the wicked; they are like chaff which the wind blows away. Therefore the wicked shall not stand upright when judgment comes, nor the sinner in the council of the righteous. For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall be destroyed.   Since we have such a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus Christ our Lord, let us with confidence draw near to God, that we may receive mercy and find grace in time of need. GREETING , HYMN: I’ll Fly Away PRAYER: Direct us, O Lord
